Morning News Talk Host
Mid-West Family in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a dynamic Talk Host for Springfield’s Morning News on 92.7 WMAY. Do you thrive to inform and serve the local community? Are you able to discuss business and politics in a non-partisan fashion? Does your natural curiosity lead you to share stories about our community? If so, this role may be for you.
Candidates must have strong communication skills as their primary responsibility will be to inform and serve the local community. You will be required to present information and business of the state capital (including city hall) to listeners in a non-partisan fashion. Your natural curiosity should lead you to share stories about the exceptional citizens and initiatives within our community, to champion local sports and stand-out athletes, share changes within the local business scene, and highlight the exciting events that make Springfield a special place to live, work and play. You must be able to look your listener in the eye while you’re behind the microphone – and then look them in the eye – frequently – out in the community. You must be ready to run for mayor of greater Springfield and understand that LOCAL content wins – on-air – and with local events, social, podcasts and web content.
